Samiya Noordeen was a barrister for many years before she turned to dance, becoming a tango performer and setting up a dance lifestyle company. A mother of three children, Samiya had reached a point where she felt the need to develop a life that was based around her passion to be more creative, active and joyful. Having found herself questioning her inner self and purpose whilst ascending the sacred Adam’s Peak in Sri Lanka, she decided to embrace dance as a way of life and so created Santhosh (‘happiness’ in Sanskrit), a dance and health retreat company that encourages people to achieve mental and physical wellbeing through the magical forces of movement and music, with health and joy as the focal point.
Santhosh, whose mantra is ‘Dance to freedom and fitness,’ offers London dance classes for anyone and everyone, in a variety of styles such as American Hustle, Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba and Latin Fitness. This year, Santhosh are unveiling a brand-new class for teenage girls. The class aims to inspire young women to feel empowered, strong and fit, whilst making new friends and enjoying a new way to exercise. Santhosh also hosts annual health and wellness retreats in the stunning surroundings of Northern Ibiza, carefully constructed to see guests reconnect with their body through dance.
