Almost four years ago, Millie Gooch gave up alcohol to save her rapidly declining mental health. When she first stopped drinking, she couldn’t find support and a community that reflected her experience of sobriety – most were related to recovery programmes. So she founded Sober Girl Society, a growing community who are either committed to being sober or who are sober-curious. Millie says that sobriety is the best decision she has made. “My depression has been fully alleviated since I stopped drinking. I still do suffer with anxiety, but my suicidal thoughts have gone.”

“The only thing that made it better was getting back on it.” This really stuck with me, Millie. I completely took that approach as well, along with putting myself in dangerous situations. Thank you for sharing.
