After losing her mother, Ola Pelo felt lost with her grief. She was pregnant with her second child and was at a crossroads work-wise. She made the leap to run her own business, to fulfil her passion for storytelling and content. She tells us how she tried to navigate her grief while raising a young family, the differences in dealing with grief between her African and British relatives, and how to discuss death with children. “Your character is changed forever when you go through grief, but you learn to recognise those triggers when you’re moving into a grief spiral and feeling like it’s the first day that it’s happened again.”
