Kindness at work also means kindness to ourselves right now, says wellbeing consultant Catrin Donnelly. She says we don’t do enough to ask our colleagues how they’re doing, if we think they are working too hard, or not taking enough breaks, or look like they could be struggling. “Have a proper conversation. Look out for one another. We might not even be aware of how stressed we are, let alone colleagues. People like the feeling of being on all the time, and sometimes they need an intervention that comes from a place of empathy and care.” Be understanding and be respectful – don’t pounce and try and fix it!
